This is not going to happen.
Maybe it is just the type of chocolate I was using, but it dried almost immediately, leaving little time to get everything to stick. Also, how are you supposed to get the legs to stick in without smashing the cake ball and smearing the chocolate everywhere?
This is as far as I got before the chocolate dried entirely. I suppose I could have used extra chocolate to glue everything on, but that was not part of the plan!
I've never done the cake pops before, so maybe the issue was just that I took too long dipping the cake into the chocolate and getting it covered. I probably should have tried several more, but I was afraid that each one would be equally disastrous.
I just must not have been in the right mood. I'm sure with a little bit of dedication I could have gotten them to look half decent, but I just didn't have the time to devote to that today. So I changed gears and just made some basic cake balls with festive sprinkles. They probably won't inspire dancing in the streets, but they'll still taste good!
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
